What is Agent Exchange?Agent Exchange is an effort by Suddath International to promote electronic data exchange in the international forwarding business.
How Can I Participate?Agent Exchange has two methods of passing information:
· Web-Based: Users receive email requests for information and then enter the move-related data in a simple web page.
· Automated: Users can also automate their own systems to send XML files to Suddath International servers whenever their own operations data triggers it.
What If I Don't Want To Participate?Using Agent Exchange is voluntary. Our hope is to create a system where data gets shared much faster and with fewer mistakes than by email or phone. We all benefit from quicker communication.
How Does The Automated XML Exchange Work? When a key field is updated in your system, your software creates an XML file (just a structured text file) according to a schema definition called an XSD file. XML files are short, generally less than one page, with about 30 fields in them. Your system sends the files to Suddath International via FTP. At Suddath the changes are integrated into our system and a confirmation email (optional) is sent back to you.
Where Can I Get The XML Schema? The Agent Update Schema is

Can I Use Agent Exchange With Other Agents?Yes! Our aim is to promote data exchange. All AE materials will be made available to any agent or forwarder requesting them. This includes XML specifications, the source code to the web pages, the code that connects the XML to our database and more. We are trying to create an open system, the more people that use it, the more it benefits us all.
Why the "Beta" tag?Agent Exchange sent it's first request in March of 2008, and began in earnest in May 2008. We expect progress and changes to continue, please pardon the dust.
